As Forres continues to expand to meet Altyre, the interface between town and Estate becomes increasingly important.

Growth must be managed to achieve high quality development, whilst maintaining the attractive setting of the town and protecting the core Estate area.

By looking beyond current needs, Urban Animation has identified how the long term expansion of Forres can integrate significant developments into the established landscape framework.

An Estate ‘Vision’ has been prepared to guide long term development, conservation and partnership activities. Proposals focus on a new Country Park incorporating the Sanquhar Community Woodland, with sensitively located house building funding a golf course, leisure uses, paths and cycleways. The proposals are fully integrated with the Mosset Flood Prevention Scheme, which is now under construction, maximising recreational use of the floodwater storage area.
