Working with Smiths Gore and Roxburgh Homes, Urban Animation is preparing a Master Plan and a Design Brief for the expansion of Strathpeffer. A Local plan allocation of 50 houses is in place. The village is characterised by high quality Victorian architecture but late 20th Century developments have not built upon this attractive heritage.
This challenging project seeks to achieve cooperation between three separate landowners to devise a phased approach which allows integrated servicing and access.
The Master Plan and Design Guide propose the use of large specimen trees, which are so prevalent in the Victorian part of this conservation village. The landscape design strategy has been prepared in conjunction with Brindlay Associates, Landscape Architects.
The Design Guide explores opportunities for achieving a design style which is sensitive to the character of the village, whilst meeting the commercial needs of modern house building companies.
